Duffy;
I already helped you, but you did not find it because you are supposed to use the Search button (top of this page) as the forum rules indicate. If you had typed your problem, "Kenmore washer won't drain or spin" and clicked the second button that says "Search for all Terms", it would have shown you all the posts regarding this issue.
I am not big on redundancy and I figger for free, you can do some of the search work on your own. If you get stuck, reply to this post and I will show you the most common andswer in the Repair Tips Forum. Just trying to get you used to finding the answer quickly here without posting, that's all. I am still here if that does not work, Thanks. |

| I apologize, you say you already answered me. Although yesterday was the first time I have asked for help, I'm brand new on this site. I looked for info. b-4 asking you, and saw 2 things that I thought it might be, 1> the coupling between the motor and the gear case. or 2> the wire harness on the washer. I saw both video's showing how to change them and thought that it would be easy. But I was kind of hoping for a lead to which one was a common problem. The coupler listed for about $12 w/ change and the harness was $38 I believe. I do appreciate your help though. Thanks for your time, I'm sure your very busy. |

Actually, it's "you're" very busy...
The link I was hoping you would find where it mentions the lid switch when the machine won't spin on my main website HERE . The video shown will lead you to replacing the lid switch, which is the most common cause of spin failure on Kenmore machines. You can either bypass the 2 wires at the switch to test it or use someone's ohm meter to verify continuity thru the lid switch contacts with the lid shut.
The part that corresponds with your model which you will probably need is shown below.

I wanted to thank you for your help w/ the washer. It was the lid switch, and the video was what I needed to see to fix it. Thanks again!! Duffy |
