Turn on dishwasher, there's a humming. I cut it off, remove the bottom access, use a screwdriver at the fins of the motor to free motor while misses turns it on. Woldn't mind just fixing the blame thang!

So are you saying that you can spin the motor and it runs?

On this model, the motor does not come on right away, the dispenser does. Maybe that's what you hear, I don't know...

The best resource for the GE Profile Dishwasher that I can offer you is the all-inclusive repair guide on GD ROM. This is the training guide that GE provides to their authorized servicers on this product and contains everything you need to repair this unit.

It will set there forever if I don't free the motor to turn. It will make a humming and have a slight burning smell. Motor acts like it is magnetically stuck. Kinda of hard to free it up. Does not do this all the time.

That's usually a pretty good sign the motor has issues. Not unusual for GE
