If your icemaker is not working, here's a quick video to show you how to find the solution. This also helps rule out a bad water valve.

I'd like to add one more note to the ending of this video, which suggests that if there is no water flow when you jumper the V and L contacts to replace the water valve. Before replacing the valve, make sure that the fill tube where the water comes into the freezer to the icemaker is not frozen up. This will also prevent filling, even if the valve itself is opening as it should.
