Greetings:

My Maytag Washer (Model LAT9605AAE; Serial # 13673134QH) fills but is not agitating or spin/rinse in Normal wash cycle; Fills & Agitates but wont Spin/rinse in Permanent Press Cycle; and works perfectly in delicate cycle.

Any thoughts on the cause? Other similar posts point to the timer. If this is it, can you let me know the correct part number? Also how hard is it to replace?

Thanks

By your description, the timer is failing. The fact that the delicate cycle still works fairly normally indicates that the other components are functioning fine. The timer is easy to replace by removing the center cap on the timer and removing a small clip holding the knob to the timer shaft. The outer knob, spring and inner dial will then slip right off, revealing the 2 mounting screws for the timer. Pay attention to the order you remove the knobs so you can re-assemble them easily.

Remove the screws on the back of the control panel which to remove the timer, taking care to unplug the plastic wiring harness and transfer it to the new timer. Not exactly brain surgery, but....

We do carry the timer for your machine in stock. It's part number 22001026 and it lists for $89.99. Call our parts distributors at 800-507-4040 to order if you can't find one locally.

I got the part today and installed it per your instructions. (very easy and was done in less than 10 minutes).

The washer works great. The new timer did the trick.

Thanks for the advice and prompt delivery.

This went so well, I think im ready to tackle my broken icemaker now...

Cheers
