This is a new installation by an experienced amateur. It will only run for a few minutes then it shuts off. What is wrong and how can it be repaired?

OK, if this unit is new then it is under a 1 year warranty. Call GE.

If it is not new, you must decide if the motor is getting power when it stops like that (use your voltmeter). If the motor stops while under power, the motor is bad. If the power to the motor is interrupted, the control board up top is bad. Does this help?
