|

| My dryer only lites when I first start the cycle. I have replaced the coils and the ignitor. I know the gas valve is opening, because I can smell L/P gas coming out the vent when it is not lighting. The ignitor does light but it does not fire. I have tested the flame sensor per another post on here and it ohms out fine. Any help would be great. This thing is driving me crazy. |

We-e-el..you haven't quite tested the flame switch the way I do yet. This involves live voltage so watch your step here. What we don't know is if the contacts in the flame sensor are actually opening as the ignitor glows. To find out, unplug the dryer and remove the 2 wires on the flame sensor. Hook the 2 wires together birefly and have someone plug the dryer in while you carefully hold the insulated part of the wires. If you are more comfortable, use a pair of insulated pliers to hold them. When the dryer is turned on, the ignitor will begin to glow...after it getss really bright (20 seconds), unhook the 2 wires you are holding and see if the gas valve opens. Be careful not to tough the wire ends to any metal part until the cord has been removed from the wall again.
Also, what part of MODEL REQUIRED did you miss? _________________ FAST-MOVING PARTS | Ask the Repairman |
