| My Kenmore Elite #110.24942300 has started to make a high pitched noise right at the onset of the spin cycle. Everything is working with the exception of this whine. The unit is just over a year old. What's my first move??? |

You might see if Sears will cover the motor, as this is likely the culprit. Most electronic drive parts have longer than a 1-year warranty, but your User Guide will specify this.
The only other possibility is bad tub bearings, which is an unlikely scenario given the age. Be sure to inspect all of the tiny holes inside the wash basket to ensure that nothing is poking thru one, such as a small nail or a bra underwire. You would not believe the number of times this occurs. |
