Freezer not freezing through out the entire freezer section, if measuring the temperature on the shelf just under the ice bin the temp is 20 degrees when checking the temperature in the lower half of the freezer the temperture is 35 to 40 degrees.

Have we removed the cover inside the freezer and looked at the evaporator yet?

With the unit running, what is the condition of the frost pattern on the evaporator?

In other words, is there a fine coating of frost on all of the coils, part of them or none at all?

Now we are getting somewhere. Sounds like the system has a leak. Unless you have the right electronic equipment, this is a difficult diagnosis from here on. A restriction in the filter drier can also cause partial frost patterns, but this usually only happens if there has been sealed system work done previously.

Is there any service history on this unit?

How old?

Unless you are an ace at sealed system repairs, best call this one a day and give it a decent funeral Smile

You can always try a partial recharge to see if it takes for awhile until it bleeds down again. You might get a few months use, or not.
