| I have 2 new Dryer Drum Glide and 2 new Glide bracket kits for a Maytag LE8217W2, where does the dryer drum glide go? Is there a picture diagram that shows me how to install it? The glide brackets are pretty obvious, but the old drum glides were basically deteriorated so I am not sure how they are installed. |

I do NOT teach repairs here, per se. Ony diagnosis and help for those who get there parts from us or our affiliates.
There are several Maytag dryer manuals that I provide free for you to find the solution if the part you bought elsewhere does not come with instructions. Perhaps thru a small donation I might be persuaded to use my professional experience to tell you how to glue the felt pad on and install the glide over it. _________________ FAST-MOVING PARTS | Ask the Repairman |

I already have the felt pad glued on, the only thing I am not sure of is where exactly the glides go. I know they go on the glide brackets, but I am not sure how. I looked through the dryer manuals and could not find one that matched my model #. Actually I believe the dryer is an Amana. |

That is the difference between getting help here first and getting parts elsewhere...there is no support for you. You will come to see that I will go the extra mile for those who come here with their problems by providing the parts links and also whatever tips may be needed that the book does not cover. I'll expect a little more parts loyalty from you in the future, since I am about to reveal the secret to installing the glide
On the bracket, notice the slot to the left side of the curved surface? (hopefully next to the edge of the new felt pad you glued in the center). The T-shaped end of that new glide goes into that slot sorta sideways, then slide it forward slightly to engage it in the slot. Take the right end which is small and tapered, and stick it down into the right side where there is a small round hole. That's all there is...the weight of the drum holds it all in place. Do not oil this! _________________ FAST-MOVING PARTS | Ask the Repairman

Thanks, had I known about you before ordering the part I would have ordered through you. I ordered through a local Marbecs store. I anticipated there would be at least a little instructions. For the felt pad and brackets it was no big deal as I took them apart. But the glides themselves were pretty much deteriorated so I didn't have anything to go by.
The good news is, my dishwasher is next, and I will definitely order any replacement parts through you!! |

Thanks again, between your desription and a diagram of the bulkhead sent to me from repairclinic.com I was able to complete it last night. It was working quite well this morning. I'll still keep my fingers crossed for now though.

There again, you would not have needed RepairClinic had you approached me first. I would have posted a link for all the diagrams and parts for you immediately, saving you having to deal with 2 entities in order to achieve the same end. I'm sure you will find the next visit easier, because you will come here and explain the problem so we can go thru the streamlined process and save you (and me) time
Glad to hear the repair was a success!
p.s. See the link below for the way I usually do business...
