model # HSS25GFTAWW
serial # DM212787

i'm having problems with a side by side fridge the is making too much frost on the top of the evaporator. i tested the element and it tested fine. i replaced the main control board and the defrost thermostat.
i'm assuming that evaporator thermistor is fine since the evaporator fan is running fine. it comes on and off normally.
after i replaced that control board, i let the evaporator defrost until all the frost was gone and then i plugged in the unit. the fridge worked fine for about 21 days. once again, there is a lot of frost on the top of the evaporator.
would a bad freezer thermistor cause the compressor to run more than it has to?
if you could please help,
thanks

If you have not changed any of the thermisters, do so. If any one of them is bad, it will make the board skip the defrost cycle. I always replace both of them in the freezer. There is one at the evaporator and another on the lower left wall.
