|
|
I have an older (been using for over 10 years now) Kenmore dryer, model/stock # 96520120 65201.
When I set the timer to a drying cycle (say 40 minutes) the dryer keeps running past the off point and continues to run until you open the door.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks! |

As a follow up to my original post, the timer dial does move...that is part of the problem - it never stops moving, just keeps going around until you open the door.
Needless to say my clothes get really dry, however, I would rather not run the risk of the dryer running forever and creating other problems (burning down the house!). |

Yes, it's aggravating to have the thing run on and on. Your timer is liikely the culprit here, even though it advances. It is also programmed to stop at the end of the cycle by opening the contacts to the motor. Instead, it is skipping the shutoff. Bad timer.
The timer for this dryer is shown below and you may click to get it on the way.
