Mr Repairman

Cleaned the lint from the dryer today and when I moved it back into place - no heat. It spins great and no strange noises or smells. I took the front off and cleaned out all the lint and then tested the wires to see if there was juice - my meter was lit up and all green. I'm thinking the heating element may be out but noticed on a couple of posts here that the Hi-temp thermostat could be an issue is there a way to test this? Or do you think replacing the heater element will do the trick.

Thanks in advance

I suspect you are not giving me all the pertinant information, such as what led up to you moving and cleaning the dryer in the first place. No one ever reveals all the issues until i pry them out of you it seems, only later to reveal that there might be a more appropriate course of action. Why is that, I wonder?

If you are using some sort of "meter" that only glows to indicate power, this is not a volt/ohm meter as is needed to diagnose things. You will never know if the part is getting proper voltage or if the circuit is continuous. If the heater is bad, we will only know if you can read continuity thru the 2 heater terminals. Buying a heater will therefore be a risk on your part and not done at my suggestion. Nice part is, my affiliates will allow you to return the part, but then you have wasted a week ordering a potentially wrong part and still wont have heat. If you'd rather take this approach rather than invest in a cheap meter that reads voltage without glowing, that will be up to you.

The heater for this dryer is shown below and you can order it if you want to take a chance on fixing it by guesswork, Keep in mind you may have to return it if it does not heat.
