I have a Kenmore model #110.66642500 and will need to replace the heating element due to a completely broken coil. I am also having a problem with lint blowing all over the top of the dryer. I have removed the out side vent, the filter, and the duct. All of them are clear with no clogs are excessive lint. What could be causing this problem? This dryer is approximately 6 years old and need to consider if it will be more cost effective to replace or repair. Thanks

What happens when you hold your thumb over the end of a running water hose?

Same thing happens to the air on the dryer when there is a restricted vent. Unless you can see evry inch of the exhaust, you can assume it is stopped up somewhere along the run, as this is not a dryer malfunction that can be cause by mechanical failure. Buy a proper vent cleaner or have someone do it for you and the problem should be solved. The best clue you gave was that the heater burned out..this usually happens as a result of ven t problems.
