Hi I have a Matag MGD9360BWW. I have disconnected the vent. The Flame comes on for 8-10 secs. Then off .Then approx 1min later a loud click/relay noise then in about 1min another click, Igniter glows , another click flame comes on for aprox. 8 sec. then off. It will continue to do this as long as I let it.
Thanks for advice

You mentioned you had "disconnected the vent". Was the vent a problem before?
Please describe the vent setup if you will... |

Hi thanks for your response.
Regarding the vent. No it wasn't the problem. I just mentioned that I had disconnected it because in reading a lot of the posts that is one of the first questions/recommendations that the vent might be obstructed.
My dryer is on the 2nd floor against an outside wall so it vents directly through the wall with a very short piece of pipe. The vent was quite clear and the damper on the exit hood worked properly.
In reading alot of the posts, although I didn't find my exact symptoms, many of the recommended fixes for similar burner issues was to replace the 2 coils on the gas valve.

| Good. This leaves the hi-limit thermostat as suspect. Be sure the intake housing for the blower is not clogged up and that the seals on the front and rear of the drum are intact, then replace the hi-limit thermostat located on the burner flue. Should do it... |
