Apparently I am supposed to have ESP...or did you miss the "Model number and Brand required" part?
I have to look up each appliance to help you, so please include this info in your first post body, thanks. _________________ FAST-MOVING PARTS | Ask the Repairman |

Somewhere during my post, the mod and brand was entered.
Sorry about that
Maytag Mod# DE 7500. I have been told that lint buidup will cause the buzzer to stay on, but I have cleaned the lint out. This is an old machine so maybe the timer motor is not opening the buzzer contacts.
Thanks |

The problem here is a bad push-to-start most likely. You can confirm if it is a stuck start button simply by measuring for continuity thru the switch contacts on it with an OHM meter. That's how it is done in the field.
I doubt it is the timer, since you can manually activate the buzzer when the timer is off and the door is closed. I have tried cleaning the start button relays to little avail and usually end up replacing them

Dryer is working fine right now. So the problem is not consistent.
If I turn the Timer Sw. on when the push-to-start switch hangs(buzzer stay on) would the dryer motor start without having to push the start button? I'm pretty sure it done that when I was tinkering with it the other day.
Thanks

| Trust me ol' pal...I have seen this more times that you'll ever know and it always seems to clear up, but will go back to constantly buzzing until you break down and order a new switch. The timer does not really control this...it's a signal present only when the motor centrifugal switch is open and the door switch pressed when the timer is in the "off" positions. In other words, if you try to start the dryer in the 'off' position, a normal response would be a buzz. |
