| I bought a 2nd hand chest freezer, it's a Nova Scotia C4CFW. I left it overnight and plugged it in and switched it on today and it starts up then a couple seconds later it stops again. It doesn't seem to be getting cold. Can you give me any advice? |

The best advice is not to buy used refrigeration products. People rarely get rid of them unless there's a problem, and the average Joe does not know how to check a product like this before buying it. You should always demand that the unit be running and operational before you buy it!
I'm not sure what advice you need regarding the no-cool situation. It is likely a refrigerant leak or a compressor problem, something you have no way of fixing without hiring an expensive servicer. A chest freezer is the cheapest product out there, costing only $100-300 brand new nowadays. Hardly worth investing huge amounts of money for repairs. |
