GE top loaded clothes washer; mod. WJXR2080T2WW, ser. TM910349G

Started a load of wash and it stopped in the middle of the wash. Tub filled with water when it stopped. Machine will not Drain, Fill or Agitate. In fact it does absolutely nothing. Breaker is not tripped & electricity is coming from the outlet. Unit is only ~6 years old.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Found the problem. The lid switch is not being made anymore. Don't know why this happened, but it's all set now!!

Hey, glad it's fixed!

That was likely the best twelve bucks you've spent in awhile Smile

Try and not place laundry baskets, etc. on top of the washer to avoid damage to the lid hinges and switch actuator. A severly off-balanced load can also do harm to the lid switch. My advice has always been to keep the water level on Extra Large even with smaller loads, as more water helps keep even a small load relatively well-balanced during the spin cycle.
